A new application must be filled out every school year. An application will be sent home with every student the first day of school. Only one application is needed per family, even if the students go to different schools.
Meal Prices
Free - no cost at breakfast or lunch
Reduced - Breakfast $0.30, Lunch $0.40
Patagonia Public Schools participate in the Child Nutrition Program. The program is a federally subsidized program and your children may be eligible to receive free or reduced-priced breakfast and lunch. If you wish to apply for the free or reduced-price meal program, please obtain an application from the school office or district office.
Application Review Timeframes
Applications take approximately 1-2 days to process.
The District's Food Services Department will send a letter to notify applicants of the approval or denial of their application.
Changes in Income
If your children receive free or reduced-price meals based on income information, you must inform the school cafeteria manager when your household size decreases or your income increases by more than $50 per month ($600 per year). If your child receives free meals based on information from Food Stamp, Cash Assistance or Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations, you must inform the school cafeteria manager if you no longer receive these benefits.
Verification
Your eligibility may be verified by school officials at any time during the school year. You may be asked to send information to prove that your child should receive free or reduced-price meals.
Confidentiality
The application information will be used to allow your student to receive free or reduced-price meals. However, this information may also be used to determine eligibility for other benefits. If you want to waive your rights to confidentiality to be considered for other benefits, carefully read the "Limited Confidentiality Waiver" at the bottom of the application.
Nondiscrimination
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) prohibits discrimination in all its programs and activities on the basis of race, color, national origin, gender, age, and/or disability.
Students are not identified in any way if they are receiving free or reduced-price meals.
